The World Aids Day was celebrated and the programs were coordinated by ISPOR
representatives along with the Department of Pharmacy Practice. The programs
included an awareness speech and also a role play depicting the social stigma

In association with the campaign, ADR monitoring and reporting system was also established by the Pharm D interns. This system is used to report all the suspected ADRs for new vaccines. All reports of suspected ADRs, regardless of whether they are reported by the healthcare professionals or patients end up in the ADR registry. The adverse reaction repots were assessed and processed on a continuous basis. The Pharm D interns and the patients actively participated in the programme.

It was dedicated to raising awareness to the Aids pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, the program was conducted on online medium. A painting competition was organized on the theme “Save A Life Today” where the students participated actively. Another part an interactive session on HIV and AIDS for the first-year students were organized. A poster competition was also organized. The department actively participated in spreading awareness and believes that in the future generation has the ability to sensitize others and prevent the spread of HIV.

Description: Our Pharm-D Interns offered telecounselling to the
patients during the COVID outbreak.
Before the COVID outbreak, the interns followed the traditional approach and
interacted with our clients in person, the interaction benefits both the
therapist and the patient as it is highly personalized, physical proximity is
reassuring and communication happens at multi-sensory levels. With teleconsulting,
counselling have moved online. With help of telecounselling, we provided counselling
mainly for elderly. It allows us to reach out and provide counselling or
therapy services to a much larger pool of clients and their families and does
not restrict to any geography or location. Through online sessions, we were
also able to provide senior home care services like guidance, counselling and
consultation.
